The Big Conversation, an Other Side lecture series dedicated to the memory of community activist, artist and The Other Side supporter Sunithi Bajekal presents national and regional speakers on a wide variety of topics of importance to our community that are inadequately covered in the media.

Past speakers have included Chicago activists and organizers Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, investigative poet and Fugs founder, Ed Sanders, Ithaca anti-fracking organizer, Walter Hang, Anti-drone activist Ed Kinane, Utica anti-racism advocate, Patrick Johnson and Utica IWW anarchist organizer, Brendan Maslauskus-Dunn.

Past topics have included lead contamination in Utica soil and water, prison abolition, the Zapatista revolution, a People’s History of Utica and the Israeli occupation of Gaza. Generous time is always included for conversation.
