
A Brief History of the USSR:
The Peoples’ Classroom returns to The Other Side in Utica with a special two-part presentation on an often completely misrepresented yet crucial aspect of world history, the creation and legacy of the Soviet Union.
We will examine the historical context as to how the USSR was formed, the major events during its existence, the way in which it was systematically decimated by the Western powers and finally the legacy of it in today’s world.
Part 1 will go through the formation of the Soviet Union and cover the time periods of Lenin and Stalin.
Part 2 will go through the collapse of the Soviet Union and the ramifications for today’s world.
It is a presentation designed to challenge your preconceived notions and represent that all important working class perspective.
