Spring has sprung — let’s make pysanky! Pysanky are referred to as Ukrainian Easter eggs, but the tradition is much older than Easter itself. It’s the perfect craft to celebrate spring’s return. Rather than a formal class, we’ll gather together and sit side-by-side as we create these seasonal works of art. Like most traditional craft practices, pysanky were meant to be made while spending time with community members, and it’s more about the experience than the end result.
All supplies will be provided, and all experience levels and ages are welcome, but please note that we will be using candles, hot wax, raw eggs, and glass jars, so little hands may need some help. Suggested donation of $10 to cover the cost of supplies and support The Other Side in continuing to host community and cultural events like this one. Seats are limited — please email TOSUticaBooking@gmail.comto reserve your spot.
