This month’s discussion will focus on the plant Fishwort. The smell of
the torn fresh leaf is reminiscent of cilantro and fish. The plant is
also known by the Latin name Houttuynia. In Japanese the plant’s name
translates to “brings poison under control.” Many use the plant to
remedy the symptoms of what are said to be Lyme co-infections. The
plant also has an effect on the blood, skin, and urinary tract.
