Big and Glassy Book Club

March 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The Big and Glassy Book Club is back and ready for more. This time we will be reading the American masterpiece: Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Originally published in 1885, it is the novel, Ernest Hemmingway claims, from which “All modern American literature comes… There was nothing before. There has been nothing as good since.” I doubt I need to explain anymore, as the book is practically imprinted on the collective American psyche.
We will be meeting to discuss it on Tuesday, March 18th at 6:30pm at The Other Side of Utica (2011 Genesee St).
Due to popular demand, the potluck format of the meeting will be returning, so if you would like to bring a dish to pass, and are by no means obligated to do so, please do; we will set up tables and have a grand ol’ time.
As always, the meeting is open to the public, whether you have read the book or not.
Following Huck Finn, we will be reading Percival Everett’s James, a retelling of the classic tale from Jim’s perspective.
