SUMMARY:Jazz at The Other Side presents: Joe Locke
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss this! | \n“…he’s in a league of his own as a vibraphone soloist.” — Jazz Wise | \nOrin writes: Having heard many of the current vibraphone masters live\, including Gary Burton\, Joe Locke is for me today’s Bobby Hutcherson (my personal favorite all-time greatest jazz vibe master). We saw Joe Locke live at Saratoga\, pre-pandemic and were\, to say the least\, dazzled. I talked to Joe that day\, promising we would book him at The Other Side some day. That day has arrived and you should not miss it. I am particularly psyched that my homeboy\, Rick Montalbano is going to get to play with Locke and be what Kenny Barron was to Hutcherson. As usual\, Dr. Mike has put together a stellar group to accompany Mr. Locke\, featuring \,besides Rick\, a couple more TOS favorites: Mike Melito on drums and Peter Chwazik on bass. Everything points to another ultra-swinging evening\, so I hereby advise you to be there or be ■. \nFeaturing: Peter Chwazik on bass\, Mike Melito on drums\, and Rick Montalbano on piano. \nSaturday\, April 1\, 7:30 p.m. \nCall 315-735-4825\, email kodomenico@verison.net\, or stop by Cafe Domenico.  Tickets $25\, $10 students.
