Free talk April 20 on Utica’s peregrine falcons

UTICA — A free, public talk on “The Utica Peregrine Falcon Experience” will be presented at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at The Other Side, 2011 Genesee St., (next to Cafe Domenico).

Matt Perry, co-founder and President of the Utica Peregrine Falcon Project (UPFP) will give a presentation focused on the first successful nest of Peregrine Falcons in Utica and Oneida County.

Perry will shed light on “the fascinating lives of these urban dwelling raptors. He’ll explain how the species bounced back from the brink of extinction to become a fixture in urban ‘canyons’ across the State,” Other Side officials said.

The Peregrine is famous for being the fastest bird in the world, but there is much more to know about their complex lives. Many close-up pictures and videos will be featured in this PowerPoint Presentation.
