Our Food System: How We Got Here and Where We’re Headed

What is the current state of our food system? Finding an answer to this complex
question was the goal set out at the beginning of the MVFS Ecology Study Group.
Through their efforts the members have gained insight into everything from the
current state of industrial farming, the history of pesticide use, methods for
preventing topsoil erosion and increasing biodiversity, anti-globalization
and eco-feminist movements, the myriad benefits of local food, and the policies
that shape the actions of consumers, producers, and governments. Join us for a
presentation and discussion of what the group has learned regarding not only the
past and present of our food, but the ways in which we can meet the future head on.
